When I was in Guam last two weeks ago, I went to K-mart (I think its like Walmart or if you live here in the Philippines think Shopwise). As expected, I went to the cosmetics department and bought some drugstore products and I happen to come across this one. I thought stick on nail polish […]
Hey everyone! I want to talk about one of my fashion addiction — PLATFORM WEDGES! These babies are pretty trendy right now especially now that its spring/early summer season in the US. Some may feel a bit intimidated to wear this kind of shoe since most (basically all of them) have pretty high heels. But […]
For reference : I wear NC25/NC30 on MAC. I have sensitive/acne prone oily skin.
Hey everyone! I want to talk about my new holy grail foundation — Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua liquid foundation. I was hesitant to try it at first because it has the word ‘aqua’ which automatically sounds like ‘dewy, for dry skin, to hydrate skin etc.’ and for someone like me who have very oily skin, I would never go for a product that will make my face look like a total grease ball as it is already.
Fast forward — I decided to buy it after hearing such great reviews on Youtube and MakeupAlley.com and a lot of the reviews came from women who have the same skin type as I do (oily/combination skin).
OMG! I am totally in love with this foundation! My HG foundation before was NARS Sheer Matte foundation but this just blew that one away. I even bought a second bottle even though I still have a pretty decent amount on my first one.
"A new-generation texture. An unprecedented sensory experience. A unique makeup result. Rapid and easy application. VITALUMIÈRE AQUA. Apply your makeup without thinking about it.
Its soft and evanescent ultra-fine fluid texture is a real surprise. Although it is exceptionally delicate and light, an incomparable “second-skin” perfecting result is achieved. The complexion appears amazingly even, fresh and energized. The skin glows with seemingly nude beauty. As if glowing from within. Bathed in light.”
What I think about the product:
It really does do what it claims to do. I love to apply this foundation using a stippling brush but if I have no time to do my make-up, I just use my hands to apply it and I get an even finish every time. Its very light weight it does feel like a second skin. Before using it I thought this foundation would be really sheer, but it actually does have a pretty good amount of coverage — I say sheer to medium. :)
The only con I could think about this products is that whenever I use a powder foundation (like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish or MAC Blot Powder) to set it. My face has this weird reaction — after 3-5 hours it’ll turn completely red, not itchy/stingy but just really red. I don’t know whether its chanel vitalumiere aqua, the powder foundation or its just my skin that causes that reaction.
But if I set it with a translucent powder (I use Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder) it doesn’t seem to have that horrible effect. My foundation looks great all day and can you believe it?! — my face is actually less oily compared to using other foundations. Overall, I really do recommend this product.
It maybe pricey but its worth it if you’re looking for a great foundation. As I said this is my new HG foundation! I have Chanel’s Mat Lumiere foundation which is specifically designed for oily skin but I like this one better.
Note: I wear the shade B20. An annoying fact about this foundation — you have to shake the bottle really well before using it for the product to work.
Where to buy: I got mine from Rustan’s but you can also get it here.
Hi everyone, I’m back! I want to talk about a hair trend today — OMBRE HAIR!
OMG! This hair trend is really hot right now! Almost everyone on Youtube is uploading videos on DIY : Ombre Hair! I want to ombre dye my hair but I think my hair’s too short for it, so I’m trying to grow my hair! I just hope it’ll grow quickly before the hair trend dies — I wish ombre hair is IN until 2013 so I can have a long ombre dyed hair! JK! But seriously I really do want to try this hair trend! :)
So, what is OMBRE HAIR?
Its basically a hair color that has a darker shade on top (starting from the roots) and a lighter shade on the tips —- think GRADIENT hair! But don’t mistake ombre hair to fading color treated hair! Ombre hair has a ‘middle color’ unlike fading hair colors that splits your natural hair and color treated hair which is VERY unattractive.
Here’s some pictures of Lauren Conrad's gorgeous ombre hair! I'm in love with her hair! :)
And who else breaks the ombre hair trend rule? Lady Gaga duh! Hers go from light to dark! :)
